Be Careful of Hidden Sugar

nosugar

As I continue to explain the benefits of a low carbohydrate, high-fat, moderate protein lifestyle, I am realizing that many people do not understand what constitutes sugar.

The simple act of NOT adding sugar to your food does NOT make the food sugar free!

Just because the product says SUGAR FREE does NOT make the item sugar free!

In fact, the FDA does not have to list the exact amount of sugar (carbohydrates) on the nutritional label.

Which means……..just because the nutritional label has a 0 (ZERO) carbohydrate count, there still may be HIDDEN sugar!

Look at this label

The NUTRITIONAL label says 0 carbohydrates but the drink is packed with artificial sweeteners, i.e.. sugar!! SUCRALOSE, MANNITOL, AND MALTODEXTRIN.

Be Careful…..

If you are looking to lose weight, feel better, improve your health, and prevent future illness, read the ingredients and eliminate ALL of these from your diets.

  1. Is there any type of gum that you have found that is okay to chew that doesn’t have carbs or substitute sugar products in it?
