Oil and Butter mixed with my morning coffee?
Why in the world would I do this crazy thing?
For the past 4 months, my main ‘go to’ breakfast has been BulletProof coffee
The main component of BC is medium chain triglyceride oil (MCT).
These are some benefits of MCT’s
1- more rapidly absorbed and burned as fuel
2- not stored as fat deposits as much as other fats
3- enhances metabolism to burn more calories
4- appetite suppression
5- prevention of atherosclerosis
6- has a beneficial hypoglycemic effect (lower blood sugar)
7- immune enhancement
8- proven to treat a number of diseases with abnormal fat metabolism such as inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and pancreatitis.
Butter and coconut oil have MCT oil and you can buy pure MCT in stores. I found mine at Whole Foods, but nutrition stores have it as well.
1 cup of coffee, 2 TBS of grass-fed butter, 2 TBS of MCT oil.
You can also add Truvia, cocoa powder, or vanilla extract to enhance flavor. Blend well and enjoy your daily dose of energy!
